Leader Training
Become a
"Trained" leader and help our pack get the Quality Unit Award.
Additional and advanced training is also available, not everything is
required.
Leaders are required to have the following
training:
On-Line
Leader Fast Start Training (required)
On-Line Youth
Protection Training (required)
Leaders must also have the training
appropriate for their position:

Training
Other Training Activities Include:

District Roundtables are held the second Wednesday of
every month. All scout leaders are encouraged to attend these
Roundtable meetings because they are a valuable source of information and
training. Roundtables
start at 7:00 pm and are usually held at Camp Belzer.
Pow Wow - This supplemental
training for all Cub Scout Leaders utilizes workshop style training
sessions usually held on a Saturday in November. One-hour
sessions chosen by the participant include fun classes on the outdoors,
crafts, ceremonies and many more topics. (Next opportunity is on Sat

Den Chief Training - All Boy Scouts
serving as Den Chiefs should attend this seven hour training. Cubmasters and den leaders working with den chiefs may
also attend to understand how to use a den chief most effectively.
Time spent teaching how to get along with Cub Scout and Webelos
age boys as well as how to lead activities such as games, songs and
contests. This is offered at Pow Wow by the
district.
University
of Scouting - For all leaders, this seven hour council led
event, usually held in January, will help you be a better Scout
leader. Participants choose from a variety of classes in Membership,
Finance, Service, Program and General Studies
areas.
OWL Training (Webelos
Leader Outdoor) - This one or two day training event for Webelos den leaders is held in an outdoor
setting. The hands-on sessions taught are those needed to work with Webelos Scouts. Emphasis is on information needed
to teach outdoor related activity badges.
